Role of Author
In "Zlata's Diary" Zlata's mood was mostly upset, angry, and sad. She hated war and wanted it to stop.
In "Zlata's Diary" Zlata's mood was sad and angry because of the war.
In "The Platoon System" Beverly Cleary had a lot of her opinions in it and talked about what her life was like when she was in seventh grade.
In "Zlata's Diary" Zlata was trying to persuade the readers (even though she didn't know that she was going to have people reading her diary), that war was a silly way to settle an argument.
"The Platoon System" entertained people because Beverly Cleary talked about things that were interesting to her or exciting to to her.
In "Water", Helen Keller informed the readers of the time when she finally realized that everything she touched had a name. 380
Helen Keller was reflecting in "Water" when she said "I learned a great many new words that day. I do not not remember what they all were: but I do know that mother, father, sister, teacher were among them." 381

The story that was the most important to me was Water.
It showed me a little bit of what life would be like for people who are blind, deaf, or both.
It showed me that I should be kind to those who have disabilities or have lost their senses.
It made me think about how I should me grateful for the senses that I am able to have.
