Science: Rube Goldberg Machine
Art
Paint colours of animals onto different materials
Carve shapes of animals on wood (if the project involves wood
If project does not involve wood, cut animal shapes from paper
Maths
Count how many of each material we need
Count how many people we need to make the machine work
Measure the distance between each material to make sure the machine works
Reading
Read instructions to know how the machine works
Find out what materials we might use
Music
Add music to the project. Eg for something interesting, we could put detective music
Like in the rube goldberg machine project video, ball goes through DJ. We could use a DJ too in a different way
Sport
Not much of a sport, but exercise. Running back and forth to get materials/parts (if needed) from the hall
Writing
Write a summary about what went well and what went wrong each day
History
The Rube Goldberg machine was actually the name of the person who invented it
The machine was first created in 1914
Backup Plans
How many so far have you and your group made? 10! Task complete... so far.
How many LEGO animals should you make? 10
Q: So far have you changed your plan? A: Yes. We found out that wood is a bit challenging to carve, especially animals, so we used LEGO bricks instead.
Note: This breakthrough might continue on to the start of Term 2.
