Church Principles
Acts
Trust God no matter what circumstances.
Crossroads Fellowship CRC
We believe that the Church, the body of Christ, consists of all believers and exists to fulfill Christ's mission, making disciples of all nations and bringing healing and justice to human society, all to the glory of God.
We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who being God, became fully human, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, was raised bodily, is enthroned at God's right hand, and will return as triumphant King.
We believe in the Holy Spirit who glorifies Jesus Christ, arouses faith and unity in God's family, and empowers believers to holy lives of skilled and fruitful service.
We believe that all those who turn from their old life and embrace Jesus Christ are delivered from the judgment of God and are born again into life eternal and so are called to be agents of hope in a fallen world.
We believe that we all have sinned and are guilty before God, and, as a result, all, both personally and corporately, suffer the consequences of the fall and are under condemnation.
This is important, because everything should go to glorifying God, in every situation.
Evidence of this principle in my church is that we go on mission trip and take an offering every Sunday to go to people in need to ultimately glorify God.
This is important, because everybody deserves a chance to turn their life around. if their life is bad, they deserve grace.
Evidence from this in my church is that we confess our sins to God every Sunday, in an effort to become more like Christ.
This is important, because without the Holy Spirit, we wouldn't be able to worship Christ.
Evidence from this in my church is that we worship God through everything that we do. We do worship songs.
This is important, because it is the actual way that things played out.
Evidence in my church is that we learn about at least some part of this every Sunday. Whether it be through sermons, Sunday school, etc.
This is important, because we deserve death, but God gave us the chance to be with Him in heaven.
Evidence of this in my church is we confess our sins every weekend and acknowledge that we sin.
Differences
Similarities
Paul gave all of the glory to God, and my church says that all things should go towards the glory of God.
The rest were just not relative at all.
It's important, because God has a plan for everything and we should trust his plan in every situation.
Evidence of this is when Paul had to trust God in the ship in the storm to get out fine.
Share the gospel no matter how much you are persecuted.
This is important, because everything that we do should go towards building God's kingdom.
Evidence from this in Acts is when Paul had to defend his faith to King Agrippa.
There will be falsehood in the church, but you must know the word of God.
This is important, because to go out and defend our faith and minister to people who need to hear it, we need to know the word of God.
Evidence of this from Acts is when Paul followed wherever God wanted him to go.(On his missionary journeys.)
Believers don't need circumcision to be saved.
This is important to know, because if we didn't know that, we would all be trying to get circumcised when we don't need to to know Christ.
Evidence from Acts is when people thought that they needed to be circumcised to be saved, and we need to sho them the correct way to Christ.
Give all the credit and glory to God.
This is important, because God deserves credit for everything. He is the reason why everything happens how it happens. There is a plan for everything.
Evidence from Acts is when Paul put God's commands and wants for us in front of people's commands and wants for us.
Paul shared the gospel no matter how much he was persecuted, and our church says that ur life should be filled with skilled and fruitful service.(sharing the gospel)
