What Causes Acid Rain?
Fossil fuels such as coal and oil are burned in factories, homes, cars and power stations
Invisible gases called sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxides are released into the air. These gases are blown along by winds
The gases mix with moisture in the air to form weak sulphuric acids. they eventually fall to the earth as acid rain
