Time - This occurs three weeks after the grandfather's disappearance. It happens in spring of 2008 (May 23, 2008).
Resolution
In the end, Mason is able to reach his grandfather and release him from his coma.
Plot

Middle:
During the dream, Mason goes through the dream meeting all the characters from the stories that he read with his grandfather.
In the beginning, the reader hears that the grandfather just vanished.

Beginning:
Mason, a boy, is unable to find happiness in real life. Instead, he dreams about happiness in his sleep. He always feels like there is a permanent void that will not let him feel content. As a child, his grandfather was his role model. He always told him stories that filled his mind with imagination. He remembers his grandfather's stories that made him laugh and wonder about the world. It turns out he has this overlooked condition where he keep

Climax
Mason finally reaches his grandfather in his dream. His grandfather is trapped in this dark room. Since his grandfather's dream is linked with his, he realizes that his grandfather is aware of the coma. He is unable to escape and Mason must find a way to do so. Unfortunately, the dream suddenly ends. Hie sees a light and he does not know it but he becomes trapped inside his grandfather's coma. It no longer is a reoccurirng dream.

Conflict
The grandfather was the only happiness that Mason had in his life. Ever since his grandfather had vanished, Mason felt empty since he is no longer able to hear the sound of his voice when his grandfather reads to him.
Mason find happiness in real life, but to do that, he must find his grandfather. Therefore, by travelling through his dreams and reality, he pieces together clues to find his grandfather.
Mason - (8 years old) Unable to read books by himself, has dreams where he is able to seek happiness, imaginative. When he is awake, he does not feel the same emotions as he does when he is asleep. His dreams are linked to his grandfather, has dyslexia
Grandfather- (68 years old) Wise, creative, imaginative. Majority of the story he is asleep.
