Composers Try New Styles
Many composers of both classical and popular music discarded the traditional ways and started to use irregular rhythms and more of a harsh combination of sounds.
The famous Russian composer Igor Stravinsky did used these methods in The Rite of Spring (ballet masterpiece)
Others like the Austrian composer who goes by Arnold Schoenberg rejected the traditional harmonies and musical scales.
During this Revolution a new music style in America emerged called jazz, which was developed by many musicians from all ethnicities including African Americans, in New Orleans, Memphis, and Chicago.
