weathering- breaking down of soil, rocks , and minerals
chemical weathering - rocks being broke down in ways that changes their chemical composition.
Physical Weathering - rocks being broke down without changing their chemical composition.
frost wedging - when water falls into the cracks in rocks and it freezes and it expands
acid precipitation- precipitation that has high levels of acid pollutants
pH scale -shows how acidic or basic a substance is
erosion - process where rocks are broken down and the pieces are transported from
one place to another.
soil - upper layer of the earth
sand - : resulting from the erosion of siliceous and other rocks and forming a major constituent of beaches, riverbeds, the
seabed, and deserts
silt - fine sand
clay- forming an impermeable layer in the soil
groundwater-water held underground in the soil
water table - the level below which the ground is saturated
with water
surface water - water that is collected on the surface of the ground
zone of aeration : region between the earth's surface and the water table
Zone of Saturation - The phreatic zone, or zone of saturation, is the area in an aquifer, below the water table
infiltration- permeation of a liquid into something by filtration.

cliff
tsunami - a underwater earthquake
Sinkholes: a cavity in the ground, especially in limestone bedrock, caused by water erosion and providing a route for surface water to disappear
underground

poisonous effects.
