BENEFITS :<3:
Feed starving people
CITATION: “Genetically engineering food could help feed the 800 million undernourished people in the world” (Should the U.S support...
For example GMO salmon grows very fast because it has growth genes. Since this fish grows very fast they can produce more fish a year so it is very cheap to get and eat.
May be more nutritious
CITATION: “For example, engineers are able to create rice that has vitamin A and iron. The modified rice is more nutritious” (Should the U.S. Support...).
For example this new type of rice called golden rice is filled with vitamin A to help all of the kids a year who die of not enough vitamin A.

CLAIM: GMOs may help feed the hungry because certain GMOs have added vitamins and typically are easier to grow and sell; therefore they can be sold at a lower cost.
EVIDENCE: "GM foods are being developed to have enhanced nutritional content to benefit your health. In development are foods that have genes modified to produce a higher protein content" ([Benefits you can get from GMO])(https://www.livestrong.com/article/195435-benefits-you-get-from-a-gmo/)
COUNTERCLAIM: We don't know the effects this can have on humans, and these would hardly be able to feed that many people, because the cost is not going to have a massive drop. These can also cause allergic reactions, and in an event where corn was made into a tortilla, and someone went into a coma.
COUNTERARGUMENT: Yes, you are right that the cost won't have a massive drop but, it will be enough for people to realize that they should be eating healthier foods that will help them. I do think that the allergies is a problem and that the GMO companies should label what genes are in the GMO.
CLAIM: GMOs can be harmful to those who have allergies to some foods because GMOs are all about taking another gene of food and putting it into another--but what if someone is allergic to that gene inserted into that food and he/she unknowingly eats it?
EVIDENCE: "According to a recent national survey, the potential that GMOs might cause allergies is a prime concern of consumers" (Are GMO causing allergic reactions).
COUNTERCLAIM: According to a Harvard source, GMO's are not causing allergic reasons, because of the little strands of DNA and the FDA does not approve items if they can cause serious allergic reactions.
COUNTERARGUMENT: There actually have been some allergic reactions but they were not very bad, yet people still eat GMOs not knowing what are in them.
