1st Wave VS. 2nd Wave
The first wave mostly knew how to speak english, while the second wave weren't very developed in english.

The first wave were the group with the most Protestants, while the most of the second wave believed in different religions.

1st Wave
The Irish Immigrants were attacked with many stereotypes, came because of the potato famine, were Roman Catholics, and the women mostly did housework.
The German Immigrants came to America from a failed revolution. They mostly lived in the Ohio valley. They were of a higher status than the Irish.
Many people came to America seeking economic opportunities and seeking religious freedom during 1790-1820.
2nd Wave
Italians, Russians, and Polish immigrants came during the second wave. Some were invited to the U.S by close friends/relatives.
There were many Catholic and Jewish Immigrants that
came for things such as religious and political freedom.
