Church Principals
Summit Creek Church
Guiding Principle 1
Water Baptism "Jesus taught that His followers are to be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19).
Jesus Himself provided the example of water baptism. Though Jesus had never sinned, He asked to be water baptized in order to “fulfill all righteousness” (Matthew 3:13-15).
Water baptism is a public profession of faith in Jesus Christ

Guiding Principle 3
Baptism in the Holy Spirit, All Christ-followers have the opportunity to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. This was the normal experience of believers in the first-century Church.
Acts 4:8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: “Rulers and elders of the people!
Guiding Principle 4
Communion, Communion, the Lord’s Supper, is a spiritual meal consisting of two elements: The bread and the cup. The bread symbolizes Christ’s body broken for us. The cup, filled with the fruit of the vine, represents the blood of Christ poured out for our sins.
1 Corinthians 11:24, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
Guiding Principle 5
Because man is spiritually lost, separated from God through sin, we need salvation. The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin.
Acts 2:21, And everyone who calls on the Holy spirit will be saved
Acts
Guiding Principle 1
Water Baptism In the first-century church, those who accepted the message of Christ were baptized in water (Acts 2:41, 8:13, 8:36-38, 9:18, 10:48).
Peter said "repent and be baptized" After Philip got the Ethiopian man to except Christ he baptized him
Guidance principle 2
Relying on the Holy Spirit, When Peter healed the lame man outside of the temple he healed him through the Holy Spirit the power of Jesus
Acts 13:2, While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.
Guiding Principle 4
The Lord honors the proclamation of His word. At least 24 notations in Acts clearly state that the Lord blessed the proclamation of Jesus as the Christ and the bold proclamation of His word.
Acts 28:31 He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!
Guiding Principle 3
Trustworthy leadership Leaders must demonstrate a life worthy of trust. This principle is demonstrated primarily in the example of the disciples bringing their possessions to the leaders.
Acts 4:34-35 There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold 35 and laid it at the apostles’ feet, and sit was distributed to each as any had to need.
Guiding Principle 5
Generous giving The leaders had the responsibility to properly handle the Lord’s money, but the people had the joyful opportunity to give generously as a blessing to others.
acts 20:35 In all things iI have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’

Differences
There are not many differences in this because our Church really bases there principles with the principles in acts and Corinthians.
