PLT 26 Feb 2018
International Women's Day
Commitments from Senegal, SA, Kenya, Cameroon (still to give final feedback on activity)
Doing an in country High-light
No formalised plans and budgets have been presented or discussed
Discuss confirmed plans: FFL: Focus on social media and so profile female farmers and activists in agriculture. Have key talking points.
Forests: F-March: We will be supporting our volunteers who will be parcitipationng in this day and this will be camp related. IN Douala, vols have been invited onto a talk show before 8 March. No money to sponsor both activities - will sponsor activities in Cameroon only = isolated to Cameroon.
SA: Small scale event at the Mena H/Q. C&E Women Champions. Need to determine what capacity of pp l Mena can accomodate and budget
Digital team has only social media person to be dedicated to this day. 8 March. Most senior positions are held be woman staff. helps us to have the content from each participating country = grounding ourselves in IWD.
Engagement Plans Presentation - complete and Q&A
Zane continuing where left off from previous PLT meeting (19 FEb 2018) - the Digital presentation.
Questions:
Need a picture of research of data. Try to mature centralised platforms = means that we are trying to fix something which might not become workable. Agencies? _ Overall Feedback - both presentations were very well presented and thorough. Appreciate the prob / solution approach - but all these things are alot to manage internally - how will be manage it or put it all together with the external world?
Objectives = How do we measure success?
According to various determined factors. Data-centricity would speak to some of our concerns/issues. Consistency is something we look forward to implementing more consistently.
A lot of external issues determine our internal output/processes. a lot of research is also required before going into a region e.g use in a certain region whatever social media platform is more active FB /Whatsapp.
Capacity is not there to handle everything we need to do. But we also need to look at functions in terms of who looks at what area of digital activities. We want to already put on the table what we think will strategically work
If we get to a point where proposed agencies come into play, will it be more cost effective for the agency to do content or to have an internal GP person to do this? Q: Agencies are more expensive to use from past GPAf experience. A: GPI are increasingly using more agency support
Q: E.g ppl want to work more with youtube (A: Deshanta = influencer work) - who manages that as well as the relationship with GPI? A: For now = Zane. But project specific - dedicated ppl will be assigned
If anymore questions or comments: Speak to Toko, Mbong, Zane
Cross pollinating & Going Forward
