Detail Design Phase

Testing and Refinement
The final product is created in this stage. All workers are aware of this production process and they work out any issues that can affect the final product.
There must be no design flaws and the last stage to determine if the product goes to sale.
Prototypes are the key to determine if customers like the product, if the product needs some adjustments, or it is ready to be put on the market.
This final stage is used for any future improvements.
Concept Development
Comfort, protection, durability, traction, ventilation are all features that need to be met.
Colors and materials begin to factor in as well as materials that can be considered.

Research can begin if a competitive advantage is reached.
System Level Design Phase
The architecture of the footwear is designed.
A breakdown of the product to determine what components are needed to create the final product.
Product variety may be an option for products. For example: a low top or high top version of the same shoe.
Some parts of the shoe during this step are the insole, laces, eyelets, and the material chosen to make the remainder of the shoe.
