How to increase outbound numbers
UK's vote to leave the EU has massive implications for mobility throughout Europe - presents an opportunity for increased international mobility
Fund mobility at Faculty/School/Department level (Law offering additional bursaries to their students - resulted in an additional 50 students accessing international volunteering opportunities)
Challenge misconceptions by adequately informing and preparing students
Encourage more flexibility within the curriculum to enable credit transfer and recognition
Departments becoming responsible for designing their own mobilies
Widening access to international opportunities
DLHE (Destination of Leavers from HE) stats - incentive to promote exchanges at Faculty/School/Department level
Mobilities of different lengths (summer and winter schools)
Why I want to work here
My passion is in international opportunities for students in the form of exchanges, study abroad, placements and volunteering.
Witnessed first hand the difference these opportunities make to the lives of our students
Lucky enough to have established a career in a different country and this has worked wonders on my confidence and personal growth
Developed an interest in international student recruitment and development but soon realised that my passion is in exchanges and study abroad
Have kept an eye on LTU for a while. I really like that you are one of the few universities to offer at least two six-week placements to all undergraduate degrees. I think the fact that you offer a scholarship to students in your Inspiring Futures programme is a fantastic opportunity for students
I would love the opportunity to boost your outbound student numbers and help you diversify your international mobility opportunities for your students, whether it is in mobilities of different lengths, different types such as volunteering or different destinations.
I have a lot of knowledge of the sector and a lot of ideas. I have managed Erasmus+ grants, established new partnerships, tapped into new funding streams and written impact reports
Our two institutions have the highest graduate employment rates and I think this is down to our placements and study abroad opportunities
