Volcanic eruptions
Large volumes of carbon dioxide, water vapour, sulfur dioxide. dust and ash will be released into atmosphere when a volcano erupts.
Water will then react with sulfur dioxide and form sulphur-based particles and together with ash and dust, the particles will reflect solar energy back into space and results in cooling in regional and global temperatures

Human Causes
Deforestation
Deforestation is the loss of forests due to the removal and clearance of trees in forested areas. Trees are felled for wood to make products such as paper and also cleared to make space for mining activities, grazing of animals and construction of infrastructure
Forests absorb billions of tonnes of carbon dioxide every year by photosynthesis and takes in large amounts of greenhouse gases. Due to deforestation, there are fewer trees and plants to absorb carbon dioxide and thus higher levels of carbon dioxide
Soil is one of the largest sources of carbon in the world. Decay of organic matters and dead leaves results in the accumulation of carbon in the soil. Deforestation exposes soil to the sunlight and will lead to an increase in soil temperature and rate of carbon oxidation in the soil
Carbon Oxidation is a process in which carbon in the soil reacts with oxygen in the atmosphere to produce carbon dioxide
This results in the increase of the rate where which carbon dioxide is released from the soil into the atmosphere due to deforestation

Changing land Use
Agriculture
It is the practice if cultivating land, producing crops and raising livestock is the third highest contributor of greenhouse gas
Greenhouse gases from agriculture
Inorganic fertilizers are used and the amount of nitrous oxide in the soil will increase. When rain passes through the soil, nitrous oxide is produced

Urbanisation
It is a process by which an increasing number of people live in urban areas such as cities or towns. Large amounts of fossil fuels are burnt to provide energy for household activities such as heating or lighting. The high amount of cars and other forms of transportation also contributes to the emmission of greenhouses gases

-
Industries
Refers to production of goods and sevices within a country. Secondary industries such as manufacturing involves the burning of fossil fuels that leads to the emission of greenhouse gases. The gases can also be released as by-products
