Causes of recent climate change
Vibrations in solar output
Because areas surrounding the sunspots radiate more energy which compensates for lower temp. of sunspot areas.
Sunspot = Cooler regions on earth's surface that appear as dark spots.
During periods of intense solar magnetic activity, the number of sunspots increases which results in higher solar radiation.
Volcanic eruptions
Realeases large volumes of gas
Ash
Sulfur dioxide
Dust
Water vapour
Carbon dioxide
Deforestation
Loss of forests due to clearance of trees in forested area.
Trees are felled for wood to make products
Human activities
Greenhouse effect
Natural process by which the greenhouse gases trap heat in atmosephere which keeps it warm.
Enhanced greenhouse effect
Anthropogenic factors
Increase in the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere which results in a rise in global temperature.
Creates greenhouse gases
Changing land use
As population increases, the demand for agricultural and industrial land also increases.
Due to high carbon content, fossil fuels contribute to the increase in greenhouse gases by producing large amounts of carbon dioxide when burnt.
