I-V Characteristics
I-V Characteristics describe how a components V/I ratio changes with changes in current, voltage or even temperature

P.D and EMF
EMF is the theoretical voltage of a power source. You can find the emf of a power source by setting the current to zero so that the resistance is infinite
Internal Resistance
Power sources with high internal resistance will have more lost volts and hence a bigger difference between the terminal p.d and the emf.
-
P.D is the energy dissipated by a component. Energy can be dissipated as light, heat, sound and other forms of energy
Some Useful Equations
-
-
I = nevA
Remember that little 'v' is the velocity of electrons, not voltage!
