Freedom of expression
This includes freedom of speech and media but also freedom of thought, conscience, cultural expression and intellectual inquiry
Free, fair, regular elections
Everyone has the right to take part in the government of their country, directly, or through freely chosen representatives. The people should express what they want through regular, and genuine elections which should be held by secret vote or other free voting procedures.
Seperation of powers
Power in Australia is seperated through the legislative branch, executive branch and the judiciary system

The rule of law protects the right of citizens, maintains order and limits the power of government. All citizens are equal under the law

All people are presumed to be innocent until proven otherwise and are entitled to remain silent and are not required to incriminate themselves
No one can be prosecuted, civilly or criminally for any offence not known to the law when commited
