I nature really that special?
Gets us away from daily cares
away from our phones/internet
affects our attention span
provides a new mindset
identical to playing music/visiting museum
Divers attention, is pleasant and social
Music, friends + culture also make us happy
Open senses to the woods
Birds / bugs / animals / water
Plants/the experience of plants. Being surrounded.
The lasting effect
of hiking in the woods =
still sees a benefit but it decreases over time.
1 hour is good (in like a park) but lasts shorter
Essential Oils of trees
Or soil compounds
Everything is relative to one another
Consider the bigger picture and take all variables/surroundings into account
But the Americans did a lot more hypothesizing
May be just the authors lack of IDK enthusiasm fro the Japanese version
Personal bias is pretty heavy
Not a lot of detail in general on Japanese version
Get rid of it
Fix it immediately.
What can nature do for us? Take advantage of surrounding more. Like more disconnected. Used to only improve lives.
I myself have a very american mindset as I am reading the book for my own personal benefit to increase my productivity
What to do
Nature videos (Visual/sound stimulus)
Essential Oils + Diffuser (Smell)
Stem oil (hinoki cypress)
Travel to a natural area once a month
Like to hike? Maybe.
Walk under trees vs fields
Water is good
Visit a park once a week
Doing it in winter is also helpful (outside)
Not as enjoyable but still useful.
