Inquiry Task (Year 12)
India
What are problems / health areas faced?
Disease
Poor sanitation / Hygiene
Poverty
Access to clean / running water
Corruption
Malnutrition
High infant mortality rate
Why are these prioritised? Rather than the ones like in australia?
This is due to them being an underdeveloped country. Meaning that because the country does not have access to resources, anything to combat disease etc. it put them at a higher risk to be stuck on 'simple' areas being prioritised that should already be taken care of.
Australia
NHPA's
What Are They?
Mental health
Diabetes mellitus
Asthma
Arthritis and musculoskeletal conditions
Injury prevention and control
Obesity
Cardiovascular health
Dementia
Cancer control
Why are these prioritised?
These are prioritised, rather than issues that are faced in India, as we are lucky enough to be exposed to resources, health care systems and other advantages like immunisation etc. that help eradicated in our eyes 'simple problems' that India face and are easy to manage, but because their country has issues, like corruption etc. that help to prevent them from getting over these issues
