In a case method classroom
Students
provide most of content of a case discussion
They are responsible for the outcomes of the discussion
Case discussions are replete with facts and information, but they aren't shaped into a single truth

Three characteristics that a case must have
A significan business issue or issues
No stated conclusions
Sufficient information on which to base conclusions
Complicating properties that many cases have
unstated information that must be inferred from the information that is stated
a nonlinear structure in which related evidence is scattered throughout the text and is often disguised or left to inference
information that includes "noise"
Three characters as a reader
Filter out irrelevant or low-value portions of the text
Furnish missing information through inferences
Construct conclusions from the information in the text
Associate evidence from different parts of the case and integrate it into a conclusion

Find it
put key texts together and reorganize a solution

appropriate to case
Read a case actively and construct your own meaning
Receive it
find out cases' subject and significance
