Goal
Goal 1. Promote and create a safe and integrated environment for migrants from Myanmar, especially children and youth through raising awareness on child rights / children on the move / child trafficking and how to protect themselves from risks and danger, ensuing a civil society to grow in solidarity.
Objective 1: Providing capacity building for youth leaders and civil society organizations which will include mechanisms to ensure the promotion and protection of human rights, the rights of expression, rights of safe migration as well as access to relevant and updated information.
Expected result: The improved skills and capacities of HWF staff, youth leaders and CBO representatives on safe migration / children on the move / anti-human trafficking promote the protection of migrants from Myanmar, with special provision for children and youth.

Activity 1: Conduct TOT trainings for RoY staff, youth leaders and partners on Safe migration / children on the move issues; child protection / anti-human trafficking.
Output 1: Trained RoY staff, youth leaders and partners are aware about safe migration, children on the move and dangers and are able to develop and design workshop moduels on these topics.
Objective 2: Ensuring that youth are empowered with the understanding of basic human rights commitments and raising awareness and advocacy of safe migration and child protection among the wider communities.
Expected result 1:
Migrants from Myanmar, especially children and youth, demonstrate greater knowledge and understanding about safe migration, the risks and dangers as well as how to prevent them.
Activity Advocacy work of peer youth leaders to local communities across Thailand and Myanmar on Safe migration / children on the move issues
Output Community members, parents, and children attend the campaign activities in Thailand and Myanmar and are aware about safe migration / children on the move as well as the risks that can occur and how to take actions when in danger.
Expected result 2:
Migrants from Myanmar, especially children and youth, demonstrate greater knowledge and understanding about their rights as children, the dangers of child trafficking as well as how to prevent them to become a victim.
Activity Advocacy work of peer youth leaders to local communities across Thailand and Myanmar on child protection / anti-human trafficking issues
Output Community members, parents, and children attend the campaign activities in Thailand and Myanmar and are aware about child protection / child rights / child trafficking as well as the risks that can occur and how to take actions when in danger.
Goal 2. Increase the future pathways for migrant children from Myanmar through access to recognized education programs
Objective 2: Facilitating the coordination between stakeholders and partners in the NFPE and NFME programs developing and increasing the quality in the educational program.
Expected result Relevant stakeholders in the alternative education sector (from Myanmar and Mae Sot) collaborate and liaise for a better implementation and promotion of the NFPE/NFME programs.

Objective 3: Equipping and empowering Migrant School teachers from Myanmar in their role as teachers ensuring the quality of education in the NFPE and NFME programs.
Expected result Trained NFPE/NFME teachers have a better ability to teach their students and ensure an increased quality of education.
Activity Train teachers on NFPE/NFME curriculum and township monitors to supervise the implementation of the NFPE program in the MLCs
New school directors and headmasters are trained about the NFPE program, the curriculum and requirements and are able to introduce the NFPE program in their schools.
NFME teachers and township monitor receive a refreshment training on the NFME curriculum and activities and are able to implement it in their daily teaching.

Interested teachers (non currently in the NFPE/NFME program) are trained to overview and supervise the final NFPE exams at the end of each school year.
Teachers of the occupational activity know different handicraft possibilities and are able to teach them to the NFPE/NFME students.
Objective 1: Supporting a safe learning environment for migrant students from Myanmar in Mae Sot through access to recognized education programs ensuring them a possible future educational transition into Myanmar.
Expected result Migrant children from Myanmar have a better future opportunities through the recognized NFPE and NFME education programs in selected migrant learning centers around Mae Sot

Objective 4: Monitoring and evaluation to assure that the standards of NFPE and NFME programs are implemented as well as developing and increasing the quality in the education programs.
Expected result The monitoring and evaluation assessments have an impact on future decisions and developments in student accreditation in migrant learning centers in Mae Sot.
Activity Monitor and evaluate the NFPE and NFME programs as well as maintain and develop the partnership with stakeholders in Myanmar and Thailand.
The township monitors are monitoring the implementation of the NFPE/NFME program in participating schools and provide support to teachers/headmasters when needed.
A final evaluation study of this project including NFPE and NFME programs provides a comprehensive assessment of the impact and results compared to the preliminary study.

Officials from the Myanmar Government assess the implementation of the NFPE/NFME programs in and around Mae Sot and liaise with local stakeholders in the area of alternative education.

Male or females willing to become a NFPE/NFME teacher (extra training and different curriculum than the normal Myanmar curriculum) and teach in one of the MLCs offering these programs in and around Mae Sot.
37 CSO representatives and teachers (Safe migration)
CSOs targeting children (especially child exploitation, trafficking, labor) who are based and active either in Tak Province (around Mae Sot) or in Karen State (Myanmar). Priority will be given to partner CSO where HWF has already a strong partnership.
480 Community members (Safe migration) marginalized Myanmar migrants in and around Mae Sot or poor communities in rural areas in Karen-State.

migrant and/or vulnerable children from Myanmar living in Mae Sot and surroundings and in rural villages in Karen-State (Myanmar);

In order to analyze the whole project, the University of Chiang Mai already confirmed their interest in carrying out the initial baseline study as well as the final evaluation report assessing the impact of the NFPE/NFME programs.
