Women are getting murdered and go missing and what are we doing about it...
34 cases across Canada which involve the death or disappearance of Indigenous women, but which authorities say were not due to foul play.
For its part, Statistics Canada now requires all police services to report whether a homicide victim is Indigenous, according to Warren Silver, an analyst with the agency.
But police forces don't have to report missing Indigenous women to the national statistics agency.
"We don't have data on missing women," said Silver. "It's not a crime to be missing."
According to the study, females accounted for 10 per cent of people accused of homicide in Canada from 2001 to 2015.
The rate of Indigenous females accused of homicide was 31 times higher than non-Indigenous females (4.33 per 100,000 population compared with 0.14 per 100,000 population).
The most indigenous woman that are being faced with this is over the years of 18 but still, some are less than 18. The indigenous woman are more likely to get murdered and go missing though, if they are over 18 years of age but sill some girls under 18 go missing and are homoside victims. On the bright side though less girls under 18 are gone missing. But there is still homocides of girls under 18 today.
