What is it? It is a renewable status, lasting two years, that shields people brought to the US as children from deportation
Benefits of DACA Permission to remain in the country, can receive work permits, obtain health insurance, get in-state tuition, receive state-funded grants and loans, drivers license, and occasionally subsidized health care.
Who are the dreamers?

Dreamers must be enrolled in high school, have a diploma, or GED.
Dreamers cannot have a serious criminal history, which includes a felony or serious misdemeanor, or three misdemeanors
Inspiration for the name came from the Dream Act. This would have given beneficiaries a path to citizenship.
Why was DACA eliminated?
These Attorneys strict views on immigration and thought that it was an overreach of presidential power.

What if there's no deal?
If congress does not come up with a deal recipients will lose their protection as their two year statuses expire.
This will cause deportation even if they are not arrested and will result in a loss of benefits that DACA provided.
