PLT 12 February 2018
Women's Day Team
Deshanta and Celehte project lead.
Talking about meeting held last week. Chose to work with communities to raise gender parity and spin-off on digital platforms. Touch base with Deshanta.
Comments: Scale = What is being planned in terms of team demand on already stretched teams. As small or as big as able. Both Deshanta and Celehte sit outside of campaigns. But camps need to take precedence.
Suggestions take into account the already built relationships with Earthlife. Looking at ways of working with women in communities in the different NRO's. We do have a social budget. Invite womens's teams / orgs to join us.
Human capacity is scarce to spare on this event.
Nothing set in stone. Need to refine the ideas brought forward.
One concrete resource we can offer is the editing of all and common content
Would like to see abit more detail and budget. Action by 19 Feb have budget to look at - Lindlyn and Toko.
Need to look at different areas to get money for this
Camps al have budgetary and human capacity concerns. Mostly considering very light activities. DRC already have plans on organising something for that day, campaigns will fall in line with these womens day activities
Senegal: Working with women in fisheries. Will collect a lot of photo and video materials on the day and share with Engegement.
Have less than 4 weeks left. Look at content related opportunities, however big or small can use this to communicate online.
Fundraising Question: Are we accessing female environmental days/activities. What would our role be with them moving forward? Will it be active in future or only on occasion? Deshanta mentioned that this year would be a starting point to move it forward. FR could approach female middle / major donor whom could be approached. Candice willing to take further
Finalisation PLT Plans Stemming from SMT Meeting

Plastics Team and Meeting Proposed Date
2 leads = Ibra and Renee. African wide team for 2018 because Senegal and Kenya are both heavily involved in plastic activities. Lind still to have meetings with the team, but not much to discuss with PLT at this stage until the meeting is held. Joint plan will be presented to PLT. May be similar to the way Women's day project is run with contributions from every region. It is important for out engement and FR opps.
Comment: DRC has also taken disicion to ban plastics but will only be effective as of July 2018

Performance Reviews = all ongoing
Action: Hold 6 March - TEDEX PTA to talk to GPAF about communities, arranged by Deshanta.
Fred Presenting on Field Investigation Training
Looking to do field investigations training. GPI is hosting this annually in different locations. Looking at Africa this year. Want to develop it. Idea is to give more knowledge and investigations to the camps teams. Are you interested in nominating a staff member from your team? 10 from Africa and 5 from outside. They will send trainers but also trainees. GPI will carry the costs. Looking at Kenya to do the training from. Investigation management, role and resp, how to.....scouting and simulations. Sending pp into the field = need a lot of preparation. Workshop to the participants. Need to confirm dates = 19 - 23 March possible.
Action: Fred will send an email
