Connection Methods
Router: A router is a networking device that forwards data packets between computer networks. Routers perform the traffic directing functions on the Internet. The thing devices connect to wireless to access the internet.
WIFI: WIFI is a facility allowing computers, smartphones, or other devices to connect to the Internet or communicate with one another wirelessly within a particular area.
ISP: An Internet service provider is an organisation that provides services accessing and using the Internet. Internet service providers may be organised in various forms, such as commercial, community-owned, non-profit, or otherwise privately owned.
Mobile data: Mobile data is one way that mobile device users can gain wireless access to the internet. Depending on how much you use the internet, and where, having a data-enabled device will give you the best of both worlds, giving you on-the-go access to the information you need.
Network: A computer network, or data network, is a digital telecommunications network which allows nodes to share resources.
Internet: a global computer network providing a variety of information and communication facilities, consisting of interconnected networks using standardised communication protocols.
Desktop/laptop computers
Desktop and laptops can be used to access the internet. They use a web browser to access the internet and search for the webpages. PC's use keyboard and mouse to navigate around the computer and are used to control the actions of the computer. They can connect to the internet via wireless or Ethernet
Advantages: Fast, big monitor, capable of wired network connection, can connect many devices and are commonly used so people know how to use them.
Disadvantages: Desktops aren't portable, key board and mouse are less practical than touch screen.
Tablets/Smart phones
Smart phones and tables are very similar they they both have touch screens which is the method they use for navigating around the device. One difference between the two is that smart phones can access the internet anywhere because they have sim cards which means they can get 3G, 4G etc.
Advantages: Touch screen, can access the internet anywhere (Phone), portable.
Disadvantages: Can be small (Phone), Run out of charge fast, can be difficult to use for beginners.
Smart TV
Smart TV's are TV's which can access the internet via Ethernet or wireless, they can access most webpages using the web browser on the TV. They use the TV remote to navigate around the TV which can be difficult at times.

Disadvantages: Slow, controller is annoying to use
Game platforms (Xbox)
Game platforms such as Xbox can be used to access the internet, firstly then can connect to the internet via Ethernet or wireless. To access webpages and search the internet they need to use the web browser on the device.
Advantages: Connected to TV so has big screen, can control it wireless with controller.
Disadvantages: Difficult to navigate using controller,
