Civil Rights
James Meredith
The Kennedy administration enforced order at the University of Mississippi after riots were started from James Meredith trying to enroll.
Executive Order 11063
Kennedy issued this order to rid of discrimination of housing. This meant no housing agency could deny someone a home because of their race, color, or origin.
Freedom Riders
The Kennedy Administration defended individual rights after the Freedom Riders convinced them to do so.
Executive Order 10925
Kennedy signed this order. It meant that employers cannot base whether or not they hire someone on their race, color, or origin.

Civil Rights Act
Kennedy proposed this act. Though, there was much conflict over this act. He knew he would gain a lot of support, but he would also lose some, primarily in the south. Sadly, he was assassinated before he could make this act official.

Some believed that some of the evidence from the murder had been covered up. Some even accused the CIA, the Mafia, or the KGB of being involved.

Significance
His murder had been recorded by a man who later sent it to a magazine meaning more even more people saw what had happened. Also, he was pretty young, considering the job he had, and he was for civil rights. This made people in this movement even more upset.

President Kennedy and Khrushchev had to come to an agreement so that they could avoid a nuclear war.
Bay of Pigs
Before he was inaugurated, he was told about it. The U.S. attacked Cuba and Cuba attacked back. Many of the Americans ended up in Cuban captivity. Cuba was negotiated and later let them free. In the end, the Kennedy administration came up with a plan to sabotage the Cuban government.
Peace Corps
Kennedy ended the Vietnam war because he knew since his inauguration that it was extremely important to do so.Kennedy realized that he wanted Americans to become more involved to create a world democracy, thus creating the Peace Corps. He asked his brother in-law to help him to create this, and in 1961, it was official.

On May 25, 1961, he asked Congress to support the space program. He wanted to send a man to the moon by the end of the sixties.

He never had a good relationship with the business community. This was especially true after conflict the U.S. Steel president. Though he won that dispute, the stock market still hadn't recovered and unemployment was low.
