Genetics
Sexual Reproduction
Definition
the production of new living organisms by combining genetic information from two individuals of different types (sexes). In most higher organisms, one sex (male) produces a small motile gamete that travels to fuse with a larger stationary gamete produced by the other (female).

Types of Selection
Artificial Selection
Animal breeding
They mate to two animals one being a male and the other a female with both well characteristics and then they mate to have a baby with really good characteristics and they repeat with that child when he grows up.
Breeding crops
They get the seeds of a big crop and then they grow that crop and they take the seed from that and then they keep becoming a bigger and better characteristic crop.

Genome
A genome is an organism’s complete set of DNA, including all of its genes. Each genome contains all of the information needed to build and maintain that organism. In humans, a copy of the entire genome—more than 3 billion DNA base pairs—is contained in all cells that have a nucleus.
Chromosome

DNA/Genes
deoxyribonucleic acid, a self-replicating material present in nearly all living organisms as the main constituent of chromosomes. It is the carrier of genetic information.
The nucleotide of DNA consists of a deoxyribose sugar molecule to which is attached a phosphate group and one of four nitrogenous bases: two purines (adenine and guanine) and two pyrimidines (cytosine and thymine). ... Portion of polynucleotide chain of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA).
Base Pairs: The rules of base pairing (or nucleotide pairing) are: A with T: the purine adenine (A) always pairs with the pyrimidine thymine (T) C with G: the pyrimidine cytosine (C) always pairs with the purine guanine (G)

Genotype and Phenotype
Genotype Definition
The genotype is the part of the genetic makeup of a cell, and therefore of an organism or individual, which determines one of its characteristics.
Phenotype Definition
the set of observable characteristics of an individual resulting from the interaction of its genotype with the environment.
