Garage Lounge Existing and Future
Supervisor
Check Machinery
Check the machinery to make sure that all the machinery used are functioning the way they should be. for example the till, coffee and tea machine
Change the filters for the coffee, restock on the ingredients if they are low. Also, check the condition of the machine and if its in poor condition contact manager to repair. Get more change for the till by going to local shops, if they can not provide change tell the manager
Hot drink machine not working so employees cant sell any hot drinks till its fixed
Calculate broken or not working and its the main way they calculate prices
sometimes the till doesn't open as it gets stuck
Currently the employee doesn't check the machinery often like the coffee machine and it runs out whilst they are making a drink cause a delay in the customers order
Ran out of filter for the coffee and the quality wouldn't be its best and wont sell it as they know the customers wont be happen
Manage Staff
The employee would walk around the business to check the employees work-flow. communicate with staff member so they know what they should be doing.
when the manager is not in, they need to monitor the store as well as the staff just in case something were to happen. Make sure all employees are doing their activities. if the suppliers call the employee will tell them to call back when the manager is in. If there are any major problems the employee will call or message the manager about it
Take care of any mistakes Staff makes if not handle appropriately
if a member of staff calls in sick, they need to try fill in their spot by calling another member of the employee to come in. or they take over their role for the day
making sure all members of staff understand their job roles for that day
Training
the employee gets a few employee to train through the different activities that they would need to do in the business on a daily basis. they get trained for a few weeks and then they get observed by the manager for a few days to make sure they understand their job activities
the new employee will then leave the new employee by them selves, where they then have to figure out how to solve a problem
new employees are constantly making mistakes
once they have been shown and seen how to do the activities given to them, the employee will then spend a few days observing them throughout the day and staying by their side do if they are stuck they can still provide help
Long Process, the employee may take longer to process all the activities that need to be done. can lead to many mistakes if not observed and corrected properly
Employee identifies who influence's the new employee the most, who they get along with and most helpful. The employee then talks to the manager to help schedule days so they can work together
Scheduling
the manager and employee have a meeting once a week to discuss what they and time other employees should work and sometimes help schedule the suppliers. this is done through phone calls, face to face and text message
communicate with manager through text message or phone to help schedule the Supplier. the manager inform the employee of when the suppliers should arrive and the products they have purchased. from this the employee has to make a check list to ensure that all the products purchased have been delivered.
Supplier could misunderstand the arriving time for stock and not show up on the day or not arriving on time. the employee check list could be wrong and think all the products are there are actually missing products
monitor times when employees show up for their shift, check through CCTV to see if the employee has shown up for their shift. if they are not arriving on time, the employee will call them or message to find out why
Staff don't show up on time or have forgotten they was suppose to work
if an employee is unable to work, the employee will call or text other managers to see if they could cover.
all the others employees are unable to cover, this leads to one less staff working and slowing down the workflow
create a rough draft of a timetable that include all the staff members showing the days they will work. after doing this the employee then shows it to the manager
manager suggests some changes or do not agree with the time table. this means the employee needs to communicate with the manager and then create another timetable that is more suitable
