9 provinces of Northern Thailand namely Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lamphang, Phayao, Prae, Nan, Mae Hong Son, and Tak Province.
Goal:
to prevent commercial sexual exploitation of children and enable recovery of child victims among vulnerable communities in Northern Thailand and cross border regions with neighboring Myanmar and Laos
Prevention:
Prevention will concentrate on warning children and youth of the dangers of child sex trafficking and migration.
Outcome 1:
Awareness on sexual abuse and exploitation of children is raised through new communication materials produced and increased in media reports on:
Child commercial sex trafficking
Issues related to refugee children at risk
Issues related to at-risk youth in cross border areas
Safeguarding children's safety on the internet
Sexual abuse of children in tourism

Set up Media Development Unit
Output:
A Media Development Unit composed of a multidisciplinary team is set-up
Survey media usage among high-risk groups (youth/students)
Involve high-risk groups in problem analysis, needs assessment and design of media and media training modules

Data on media usage is collected and analysed to be used for developing action plans

Outcome 2:
Capacity of cross-border networks of GOs/NGOs is strengthened to prevent and intervene in commercial sex trafficking of children and to provide better outreach and support to children at-risk.

Form networks comprising of members from NGOs/GOs, universities, community groups, etc. for prevention and intervention of child sex trafficking and to determine extent of risk among high-risk groups

: 5 networks are formed and mobilized to engage in campaigns on prevention and intervention

: 200 Shan youth and students gain expertise in media development and can develop media on their own

: Both physical and online child safe spaces for at-risk children and youths to gain understanding strengthen determination and confidence to resist exploitation and abuse as well as interact safely without risking exploitation are developed.

Recovery will concentrate on providing services to victims of child sex trafficking to enable them to overcome their trauma and regain control of their lives. Particular emphasis will be placed on outreach to the most vulnerable and at risk youth among ethnic minorities/stateless, refugees and migrant workers Community Vigilance for child sex trafficking

: Victims are able to make an informed choice of whether they wish to take part in judicial process
Provide victim sensitive prosecution of abusers/ agents following victim’s wishes

: Victims are free to make choice of whether they wish to be part of prosecution
Assist victims in claiming damages as compensation under the law if victim so wishes

: Victims receive damages as compensation for their suffering

: High risk communities are encouraged to conduct community vigilance for child sex trafficking and urged to report any cases they may come across.
