C3 revision
Limiting reactants
Reactants stop when one reactant is used up
The reactions stop when all of one of the reactants is used up
They're usually added in excess to make sure that the other reactant is used up
The reactant that is used up is called the limiting reactant
The amount of product formed is directly proportioned to the amount of limiting reactant
Change in masses
If a product is lost the mass will go down
If a reactant is gained the mass will go up
If no reactant or product is gain the mass will stay the same
Endothermic reactions
Heat is kept in
Takes energy from surroundings
Exothermic reactions
Heat is let out
Relative atomic mass
The mass of one atom
Relative molecular mass
The mass of the compound
