- Suffering just part of life, just a part of Jesus' life
Resurrection & Ascension
Jesus rising from dead is key part of Xn faith (when die, will go to heaven if have good life)
Ascension - the event, 40 days after resurrection, when Jesus returned to God, the father, in heaven
"While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven"

Heaven - place of peace, joy, freedom
Different beliefs about who will be with God eternally
- only those who believe in Jesus
- heaven reserved for Xn's or people who have pleased God by doing good things

Debate about hell
- would a loving God condemn people to that torture?
- modern argument - hell awaits those who didn't acknowledge God or follow his teachings
Sin & Salvation
Sin - any action or thought [against God's laws and wishes or God's morality] that separates humans from God
Original sin - Adam & Eve who ate the fruit - disobeyed God (all humans tempted to do thing that displease God)
Xn's believe God gave humans free will in order to choose how they live their lives (but can't just do what they want)
