Reflected Ray
A ray that gets reflected from the incident ray. Light that reflecs off of objects is what makes them visible to our eyes. Whenever light hits an object, some of it can be absorbed, and some of it can be reflected. The light that is reflected is called a reflected ray,
Reflected rays are responsible for creating images in mirrors, showing the colour of an object and enabling us to see.
Mirror
-
A silver glass mirror is an ordinary mirror, coated on its back surface with silver, which produces images by reflection.
-
Normal
The normal line divides the angle between the incident ray and the reflected ray into two equal angles.
The normal is used to find the angles of incidence and reflection. All angles are measured from the normal
What is a Ray Diagram?
A ray diagram is a diagram that traces the path that light takes in order for a person to view a point on the image of an object.
Requirements
Arrowheads
The arrow heads show in which direction the rays go. They go towards the mirror then bounce off and go towards the eye
Labels
To ensure that we understand each part (eg- label the angle of incidence to differentiate it from the angle of reflection
