Unlawful and malicious wounding or causing grievous bodily harm with intent to cause GBH or with intent to resist or prevent the lawful apprehension or detainer of any person

Judge can allow the jury to consider oblique intent (Nedrick;Woolin) if they think the that D's saw the events as virtually certain

If the V is a police officer, there is no need to prove intention to cause GBH. The MR is intention to cause some harm or recklessness plus intention to resist arrest (Morrison)
