Whistle blowing
Exposing information or an activity that is illegal, unethical or not correct within an organisation that is either private or public.

5.4 Physical security
Biometrics
Uses body measurements and calculations to identify someone individually. For example, fingerprint scans can be used because everyone has their own individual print. In a company biometrics would used to authorize the user into areas or access certain equipment.

Locks
Used to keep a door or safe closed, only allowing people with the specific key into the room/safe. In a company locks would be used to create a restricted area to stop employees/visitors from entering.

Tokens
Used as an electronic key to input a password in a electronically restricted device or area. For example key fob or smart cards are used in hotels for quicker access rather than putting a key in.

Organisational policies
Organisations have policies to establish rules and guidelines for acceptable behaviour and best practice at work.
Example: Acceptable use policy - stipulates what a person can/can’t do when using the organisations network.

Health and safety
Organisation has to protect its employees, clients, visitors.

Could lead to compensation, claims, court cases or even loss of life.
This is also an ethical issue - not acceptable to risk the lives of employees though a careless attitude.
Change management
Organisations will change over time, this is about how that change is achieved.

Security of Information
An organisation must protect data from loss, corruption, being stolen etc.
Failure to protect information could result in poor publicity fines, court cases.
Poor publicity could result in reduced sales which could eventually lead to closure of the organisation.
Scale of change
Drivers (e.g. change in business practice, legislation, competition)
Needs (e.g. improved networking, remote access for employees, etc.)
