Goals of Progressives
Creating Economic Reform
A major factor to progressivism was the abuse to big businesses. Many Americans questioned that we had a capitalist system because monopoly companies that hurt consumers, abuse of workers, and corruption.

Moral Improvements
Many people believed that morality was the key to improving lives. This included the promotion of the prohibition of alcohol and had women protestors going into bars and smashing all the alcohol.

Protect Social Welfare
Social Gospel movement beings which means people thought that the people need houses so God told them to help. Along with this the making of YMCA's which helped poor people who couldn't afford basic things. Also the Salvation Army offered practical help while also preaching the gospel to them

Foster Efficiency
Through Science Know-how people came up with the idea that owners could reduce work hours by improving the efficiency and having less mistakes means less time to go back and fix it. The mixed results to the solution ultimately lead to the invention of the assembly line

The conditions of child labor shown by this picture shows that the kids look like they were very tired and were put to work constantly. The kids look so dirty that the actual color of their skin changed to a darker color. As shown they are covered in dirt and the clothes on there bodies are ripped and worn down. The older men would make the kids do the jobs they should do rather than the little kids some younger than the young boy shown in the picture.
