Medical & Hospitalization Leave
What is it?
Medical leave is an employment benefit in the form of paid time off for illness. Hospitalization Leave is part of the Sick Leave or Medical Leave under Employment Act.
No. of days of paid sick leave entitled to depends on period of service, up to 14 days for outpatient non-hospitalization leave
60 days for hospitalization leave, includes the 14 days outpatient sick leave entitlement
Eligibility for Paid

Have served employer for at least 3 months
Have informed or tried to inform employer
within 48 hours of absence
The sick leave is certified by the company’s doctor, company-approved doctor or a government doctor (including doctors and dentists from approved public medical institutions)
