Entitlements
6 days of Government-Paid Childcare Leave (GPCL) per year in accordance with the Child Development Co-Savings Act
Requirements for employees:
- Child is below 7 years old
- Child is a Singapore citizen
- Served the employer for at least 3 continuous months
- Self-employed parent has been engaged in his/her work for at least 3 continuous months and has lost income during the childcare leave period
6 days childcare leave is paid as follows:
- The first 3 days will be paid by the employer
- The remaining 3 days will be paid by the Government
- Payments are capped at $500 per day, including CPF contributions

Extended Childcare Leave
Eligibility Criteria:
- Whether the child is a Singapore citizen
- Whether the youngest child is between 7 and 12 years old (inclusive)
- Whether the working parent has worked for his/her employer or has been self-employed for at least 3 continuous months
Entitlements:
- 2 days of extended childcare leave per year
- These 2 days will be paid for by the Government, capped at $500 per day, including CPF contributions
- For part-time employee, he/she is entitled to 2 days of extended childcare leave based on his/her work schedule

Eligibility Criteria
- Whether the child is a Singapore citizen
- Whether the child is below 7 years old
- Whether the working parent has worked for his/her employer or has been self-employed for at least 3 continuous months
Restrictions
- Transfer childcare leave between spouses
- Encash any unused childcare leave; it will lapse at the end of each agreed 12-month period
- Carry over any unused childcare leave to a new company, if the employee changes employer
- Use his/her childcare leave to offset the notice period for termination of employment
However, if employee apply for childcare leave during the notice period, the employer is encouraged to grant the leave. The leave taken will not add to the notice period
