The effect of using ICT
Effects of ICT on working patterns
working part time
staff work will be cut down on as they will be working part time
the workers will be more productive
pay will be split
hard to organise meetings
It is when workers can choose to work only a few days a week.
working flexi time
flexi time as when workers can come at what ever time they want but they must complete a full day of work.workers can also complete the total number of hours a week before the end of the week and take the renaming days off.
Hard to arrange meetings
you choose when to work their hours
can be good for people that want to avoid rush hours (traffic)
job sharing
a full time job is divided between two part time workers for example one could work in the morning and one in the afternoon both are doing the same job they start where the other one finished
people are more productive
there could be confusion between the 2 workers as to how the workers will do thw work
compressed hours
the employee work their full hours for a week but in a shorter number of days.
People can have more time off
People will work to much in a short period of time could mess up there concentration and the quality of work
Health and saftey issues
ergonmics
study of people's efficiency in their working environment.
Bad room lighting can cause eyestrain
bad chairs and height of computers will affect the users neck and cause neck ache
bad chairs may lead to bad back ache thee fore we must use adjustable chairs that can move
wrong angle of wrist may lead to RSI
eyestrain can cause headaches
eyestrain is caused by the flickering of the screen refreshing 60 times a second
Effects of ICT on employment :fountain_pen:
manufactoring
there will less people making things as it will be more robots doing the job
more people will lose there jobs
things will be produced on a larger scale and will be more accurate
only a few people will be required to run the system
everything will be automatic
robots are expensive to buy but are worth it
banking
less people handling money therefore less human error
less branches meaning less workers
more people managing the ICT systems
Banking will be faster and more online so it can create jobs
Shop work
there will not be the need for cashiers
shopping will be quicker
there can be more hours open as you wont have to worry about workers
more people will have to be employed to run the system
cashiers and shop managers will lose there jobs
a lot of shops will be online and it will need a lot of people to setup the website and run it this will also increase jobs in deliver
However many deliveries will be done by robots
office work
workers will need to be able to use computers
less people to do the same jobs since the computers help
company systems will need to be setup and controlled as well as managed
everything will be stored on the computers and it will be much easier to know where everything is
micro-processors controlled devices in the home
some examples are micro-processors washing machines,ovens,smart thermometers,vacuum cleaners,lawn ,mowers,
the ability to control everything and be able to not do many of the things that we are supposed this will make us very lazy
a lot of energy will be saved because the device will be more efficient like the vacuum cleaner will not go over the same place again and save energy or the washing machine will not use any more wter than it should
with the gain of time our lives will be directed to either more important stuff or we will just become lazier
people can also have more time for lesiure activites
jobs could be lost if people have cleaners or house workers
more jobs will be made for all the people who have to make the micro-processors or the appliances
devices like alexa will make our lives much more easier as actions will be voice controlled instead of actually doing the activity manually
not everyone will be abke to use it at first because not everyone is confident with using thecnologie
