The US and south vietnam soldier used "high tech" weaponry such as bombers, artillery, helicopters, napalm and agent orange(poison) which was not as effective as guerrilla warfare, because of these weapons a lot of civilians were also killed. They also used their own soldiers as bait and attacked with helicopters when the "bait" attaracted the vietcong.
vietnam
Most of vietnam was covered by jungles, which gave rise to a new type of fighting, guerrilla warfare, this type of fighting mostly consists of stealth operations and ambushes. Many underground tunnels were built and a variety of traps were used.
