Africa Geo Wrap-Up
Big Idea
Facts
Africa is the second largest continent. It is home to more than 2,000 types and species of animals.
What Mattered
I think that in Ancient Africa, a lot of things mattered, such as, meat, water, salt, silk, wood(in the desert) shade, and fruit.
Trade
The African Trade System is very special and wild. It sprouts new paths in all directions. The items are unique too. Some of them are silk and meat.
What I Would Change
I would change the fact that water was really scarce in the Sahara Desert.
What I learned
I learned that there are many different ecosystems with many cool and unique creatures in them. Some include camel spiders, geckos, blue and gold macaws, zebras, hyenas, and snakes.
Connections
Salt
At My house, we eat a salt with our food. Also, we like eating Fish.
Mangos
I love to eat mangoes. I like eating them as a snack.
Text To World
One text to world would be that the Sahara Desert and California are both deserts.
Animals
In California, we have scorpions, snakes, lizards, and spiders. So does the Sahara desert.
Tempeture
In California it barley rains, like in the Sahara desert.
Push Factors
Terrain
In some parts of Africa, it is very sandy and vast, with no water or shade for miles. some areas have tons of trees, called the rain forest.
Climate
In some areas, it can get up to 140 degrees in the summer, and it rains almost everyday in the rain forest. heat brings death and dryness, and rain brings overgrown and lush plants that can get in the way of everything.
Weather
Weather can be a big problem in Africa, for example, in the rain forest, it always rains which leads to ruined construction, overgrown plants, and drowned crops.
Pull Factors
Animals
The verity of animals are so vast, its hard to count all of them. In every single ecosystem, there are hundreds of types of animals, such as elephants, giraffes, monkeys, and big cats.
Trade Items
Trade items are diffidently a big part of why people go to Africa. There are silk, spices, jewels, and tons more.
Gold and Salt
Gold and salt are one of the most valuable resources in Ancient Africa, because refrigerators did not exist. Since there was no refrigerators, they used salt. Gold was a extremely valuable item.
