PLT 29 Jan 2018
NVDA training plans (Fred)
Training: Two part process: 1. Training of Activists 2. Greenpeace Staff to understand how to use actions in our camp strategy, and to integrate into the strategy.
Looking at training in various locations in 2018. Q1 = Senegal and Kenya. Q2 = DRC and Cameroon
Covering legal process as well
Realise that our Activist numbers are reallyl low. Want to increase the quality of our training and actions
Need to take into consideration various factors
Feedback from Engagement Meeting (Toko)
Acton: Read the document which Toko Shared with PLT
Worked as a team on process of what works and what not, looking at strategic areas
Went through project cycle map in detail: Through touch points in details of what would be engaging and interactive, strategy paper, design phase and implementation plan. Also discussed: not possible to be involved in every project = identify a phase to take a more proactive lead, created a document to discuss resourcing design phase, sign off process, agreement on how to steer conversations, outputs, trying to add better coordination mechanism. Need a more conscious output on finding opportunities. Output processes: Who sees documents, who signs -off etc = commitment is to recreate the process and to distribute to various staff. Capacity gap e.g French-language - digital outputs in French = need to find a resource to communicate in French rather than to translate into French. All in the document. Glob engagment plan feedback process.
Do we have capacity to create a space to work hand in hand with other orgs in terms of engagment? Yes.
Can we come up with a quicker and easier way of approving documents? Yes, the process will be cleaned up and Toko does allocate sign-off to team members which are normally communicated.
French digital structure: Don't understand it in support of campaigns. * We can present a structure and co-ordinate on the content and shift resources with in the team, as well as streamline with in the team. Digital structure will be added to next communication.
Priority Projects of the year and other projects (Lin)
Need some inporovements but we have projects. Namely. Two out of the 9 projects chosen = 1. climate justice 2. single use plastics. Talking thorugh all the projects
Discussion on how we review PLT's work in 2017 (Lin and Toko)
We should review the team - good idea to review - YES
Toko and Lin will work out the process
A discussion about strategically cross pollination between engagement and campaign priorities (Lin)
All camps have objectives and projects: Want to go about it more strategically in 2018 in various methods but one stands out strongly: Metrics= All projects connect with engagement. Need to workshop how the metrics will work for campaigns.
Present: Lin, Toko, Fred, Cel, Stef, Desh, Them, Mel, Zane, Cand, Ibrah, Vic, Renee
