Sea Rose:
• Poet, H. D, wrote many poems about sex and gender
• As usual, flower is a metaphor for a woman.
• The Sea Rose is damaged and worn from the harsh environment it has lived in. because of this however, it has more character than the “unspoiled” spice rose
• Pushing back against the notion that women lose value by being sexually active.
• However, despite all this, the rose does not have the power to act on its own. It lacks agency.
