Drowning
How the event unfolds:
Wire is connected to the old man as he dives into the water. This is the only thing connecting him to the boat and the way to save him from his own demise.
The old man dives rapidly, crushing his inner organs. Old Age has also made the man weak. Does not drown, due to being pulled up of the water.
Scene of visions and ending dialogue ensues.

Gratitude towards the Companion, and the Story of the Old Mans End
By the end of story the man gives the money to the companion in an envelop containing the money and a note of thanks and a condition given either to keep Atlantis a secret or tell the story to anyone who is willing to listen.

Middle Events
Depression of the Old Man: The Old Man has searched for Atlantis all his life, and has grown very old. Desperately searches for a small straw of hope to prove that his lifes work was not in vain.
Suicidal Inclinations The Companion finds evidence that leads to the realization that the Old Man has suicidal thoughts.
Medication pills, blooded knife, suicidal note, or a small document in which the Old Man tells of his struggles, and how he is at the ends of his rope.
Realization of depression The companion realizes that the Old Man is struggling and wants to help him to solve his issues.
Confrontation between the two leads to an emotional dialogue in which the Old Man tells of his issues.
The Alternative Truths - The three different alternative truths are divulged in a dialogue.
1: Atlantis is pure fabrication for a political and militaristic goal.
2: Atlantis was a true city that existed but was completely swept away by natural disasters.
3: Atlantis exists in the deep waters of the Atlantic Ocean, through the power of advanced technology or "magic".

Story Progression
General Story in rough terms:
Devoted Atlantis Archeologist. Has a companion that helps bring him out to the sea. Kills himself through diving deep, crushing his body and almost drowning. Is saved by his companion, but in his last moments speaks vividly about a vision of Atlantis, and portrays it as real in his own eyes.
