Jealousy
Roderigos infatuation with Desdemona makes him jealous of both Cassio and Othello. The same is true for Bianca when Cassio gives her D's hankerchief.
Iago suffers from the same disposition, believing Othello to have cuckolded him. ''I do suspect the lusty Moor / Hath leap’d into my seat''
Jealousy is the result of a society where ''the sexual desire of one human being is regarded as the property of another.''
Othellos jealousy begins to feed itself , Iago describes him as being ''eaten up with passion'' as the audience, we can see how this trait brings about a tragic flaw, Othello displays irrationality when it comes to his decision making - as shown when he fires cassio. He is quick to make judgements. His perceived Jealousy for Desdemona becomes his major downfall (Hamartia).
Emilia is one of the characters who doesn't display Jealousy ''A monster, Begot upon itself, born on itself''
Manipulation
Iago displays all the key characteristics of manipulation - deceit, control, convincing. Iago is almost writing the tragedy himself.
