Properties of non-metals: poor conduct of electricity,poor conduct of heat,dull, low density/light,brittle/breaks easily,not sonorous
Alkali metals: soft, reactive with water, stored under under oil, less dense than water it floats, reactivity increases down the group, low melting and boiling points
