The 3 witches tell Macbeth he is going to be Thane of Cawdor and king and everything else. LM convinces him to kill the king and become king and then everyone turns against him.

Grendel

Grendel is trying to find his purpose in life. He doesn't fit in and he is trying to find what to do with his life.

Grendel finds a lake and decides to explore in and he finds out that it takes him to human civilization.
He is fascinated by the humans so he decides to watch from and safe distance and see how they live life.

Beowulf
Main take away(1)
Beowulf tells everyone that he killed Grendel's Mother but he really doesn't. He makes a deal with her and she promises to leave the kingdom alone as long as she keeps the dragon horn.

Plot(5)
Beowulf goes to sleep after the feast, but in his absence Heorot is attacked again by Grendel's mother. He tracks Grendel's mother to her lair in a cave under a lake and kills her with a sword he finds there.
When Grendel attacks Heorot Hall, Beowulf meets him in hand-to-hand combat. Beowulf tears Grendel's arm from his socket, mortally wounding the monster.
After Hygelac and his kinsmen are killed in battle, Beowulf becomes the king of the Geats and reigns for fifty years.

Beowulf tracks the dragon to its lair and fights it with the help of his follower, WiglafBeowulf kills the dragon, but receives a mortal wound in the fight.
