Macbeth, Beowulf, Grendel thesis Pre-writing

How does human nature tie all three of these work together? Why was it so important that humans have emotions and ideas?
All 3 works tie into the idea that people care what other people think about them. All of the characters have emotion and show at some point that they care what other people think about them. Macbeth was aware of what people thought of him and told Lady Macbeth he didn't want to kill the king because more people just got a new high opinion about him. If people found out that he killed the king then they wouldn't look at him the same way. Beowulf comes back to kill Grendel's mother just to keep his reputation of being the hero. Grendel wants his reputation cleared with the people, he wants to talk to them, he doesn't want them to think he's a big bad monster.
It's important that they all felt emotion and cared what people thought. This is what drove people, even Macbeth because he cared more about proving his love to lady macbeth instead of his reputation. Grendel eventually lost hope that they would like him and thought nothing mattered anymore. Beowulf wanted the kings daughter in the movie and married her in the epic.
