Manoj Joshi (ORF) - He says that India and Japan are witnessing overlapping of interests but overlap is not same as congruence. India should not develop military alliances to contain China. India should develop relations with all major powers in global sphere. India is a nuclear power and can defend its frontiers on its own.
Conclusion - India should develop an independent relation with Japan. Indo-Japan relation should not be seen in context of China, US or any other country. Japan can prove to be a development multiplier in India. India should have separate Japan policy and not to fit this important country into Look East Policy. Japan is the only developed country of the world with which India do not have any negative string attached.
