Shameless/Congress Hierarchy
Senate
President Pro Tempore: Orrin Hatch
A officer of the Senate who watches over the Senate when the President of the Senate is absent. He has constitutional authority, which means that his role is stated in the constitution as valid. He can speak/vote on any issue. They are mostly chosen by who is the senior member of the party.
Majority Whip
Whips are responsible for counting heads and rounding up party members for voting. They occasionally stand in for majority/minority leaders when they are absent
Minority Leader
The minority leader does the same thing as the majority leader but they have less power because they are the minority.
Committee Chairpersons
The Committee Chairpersons for each select committee decides when and whether bills will be considered. They also call the committee together to work and preside over keeping order at meetings.
Majority Leader
Spokesperson for the majority parties position on certain issues. They spend most of their time on/near the Senate floor, to open the day's proceedings, keep legislation moving, and protect the rights and wants of party members.
Minority Whip
Minority Whips do the same thing as majority whips except they are part of the minority party.
President of the Senate: Mike Pence
He presides over the Senate ceremonially and he breaks a tie vote. He also replaces the president if the president were to die or get impeached.

Ian is the connection between the younger and older kids because he is in the middle. He also can mediate for both sides, and he makes the younger kids voices heard.

Debbie holds more power than Carl but not by much, she is sort of a caretaker and helps to preside over the younger kids
Carl(min.L)
Carl holds less power than Debbie but not by much because he is more of a troublemaker and more problematic.
Liam(MW)
Liam holds little to no power because he is just a little kid.
Frank(MW)
Frank is the father of all the children but he is a drunk and the most immature of the bunch

Constituents are the voting party, the average citizen.

Lobbyists
People that are part of an organization that tries to influence congressmen.
Session
A session is the annual series of meeting that a part of Congress has. The Senate and House of Representatives is said to be in "session" on any day that it is meeting.
