Types of Government
Democracy
Pros: People opinions are represented through voting, Freedoms to the people
Cons: Easily corrupted, Laws take a long time to pass due to many checks and balances
In a democratic government, the people have control over their futures. They get to vote on political decisions that will affect them.
Communism
Pros: Everyone gets healthcare, Better employment rate
Cons: Limited freedoms, Little to no privacy
A communist government is where one person/party rules. The government controls who gets paid what amount according to their abilities and needs.
Oligarchy
Pros: More than one person deciding the rules, Encourages innovation
Cons: Easily corrupted, Income inequality
An oligarchy is where the government is ruled by a small group of people. Those people decide everything for what they have control over.
Totalitarianism
Pros: Laws get passed quicker, Less room for corruption
Cons: No freedom, no checks and balances
A totalitarianism government is ruled by one person or party who has total control. The people have no rights and no freedom.
Anarchy
Pros: No corrupt government, Freedom
Cons: Survival of the fittest, no punishments
Anarchy is the lack of government and absence of order. There is usually chaos until order is established.
Monarchy
Pros: Decisions are made quickly, Rulers take in the best interest of the people
Cons: Kings/Queens are usually the most rich, no checks and balances
A monarchy is where the government is ruled by a king or queen. The ruling passes down the bloodline.
Fascism
Pros: Private property, classes
Cons: No freedoms, Hates arts
A fascist government is where one party/person rules over. Like totalitarianism, people have no rights or freedoms.
Theocracy
Pros: Creates unity, Social reforms are easier
Cons: Common intolerance, "Follow or die" situation
In a theocracy, the government has a religious ruling. the laws come from a religious book.
